             Since I've been a lazy bum this summer regarding this here blog, I decided to go all out and start the new school year off with a photo-shoot! My wonderfully talented friend Jessica took me to a surprise location and somehow managed to make me look good in the 100 degree weather. Plus, the location is rad. I mean, an American flag garage? What? Plus, there were these adorable pitbull puppies. Who doesn't love puppies?

         The shorts I'm wearing are my new favorites. I'm literally obsessed with them. Originally they were a pair of my uncle's Levi's which I turned into cut-offs and then distressed them. DIY for the win. The top half of my outfit (the top, necklace, and jewelry) were part of my Fashion's Night Out get-up. I simply couldn't resist recycling them for this shoot, and I'm glad I did! I'll post pictures from FNO tomorrow (hopefully).

The Face of a Woman

             I really can't keep spacing out like this and no posting for a whole month. I moved out of my college dorm room (I know, crazy, right?), visited some old friends, went to the beach, and read five books. As you can see I've been keeping myself busy during the first two weeks of summer vacation. This past weekend my family and I went to the Norton Simon Museum of Art in Pasadena, and I must say, our ancestors really had a thing for nude portraits. I mean, really. Anyway, Have a happy Fourth of July since I won't be posting tomorrow-- I'll be kicking it at Huntington Beach all day and night.

Bright Young Things

            I mentioned that I have been working on a final project, and here it is! For my Style and Cultural Studies course I was required to write an essay on something and submit a creative sidebar alongside it. My project was on fashion in the 1920s and how it has influenced todays styles. 

           Last weekend I was able to go to my grandparents house at the beach (gorgeous, right?!), and I took part of a day to frolic on the beach in my thrifted goods while my younger sister filmed me. The weather was lovely, the food was great-- can you say homemade fired chicken?? YUM.-- and best of all, I got to spend some time with my dad and sister before returning back to Davis to prepare for finals week and move-out. I can't believe I'm almost done with my freshman year of college! Crazy stuff, man.

Hang Tight, Fashionistas!

          This is just a quick post to inform everybody that I won't be posting as often over the next week or so because I'm working on my final project for my Style and Culture class. Don't worry! You'll get to see the end result. I'll keep you guys posted.
